The Excalibur
Hotel and Casino is a hotel and casino located on the
southern part of the Las Vegas Strip. The Excalibur is
owned and operated by the MGM
Mirage.
It's hard to miss its medieval castle facade in blue
and red color motiff, as you drive by it on the strip. Before
2007, it used to have a wizard-like figure representing Merlin
looking out from a high turret by the entrance. It has been
replaced by a figure advertising Dick's Last Resort, one of the
establishments inside the hotel.
The Excalibur Las Vegas
is right at the intersection of Tropicana and Las Vegas
Boulevard. The intersection is so busy that pedestrians are not
allowed to cross at street level. Instead, Excalibur is linked
by overhead pedestrian bridges to its neighboring casinos, New
York-New York and the Tropicana. There is also a free tram that
connects Excalibur to its sister MGM Mirage properties, the
Luxor and the Mandalay Bay. The latest renovation to this
property was in 2007, when guest rooms were updated to be more
contemporary and modernized.
The Excalibur Las Vegas
opened in 1990 and was originally built by the Circus Circus
company. At the time, it featured a prominent, large swimming
pool and was considered one of the larges hotels in the world.
Ownership transferred to the MGM Mirage in
2005.
As of the last
renovation, most of the medieval themed statues and scenery
have been removed to be replaced by a more modern look.
However, you will still be able to see a few of the wall murals
and some statues.
The moat in front of
the Excalibur Hotel used to have an animatronic show which
featured a fire-breathing dragon emerging from the water and
Merlin fighting each other. The show was shut down in 2005, the
dragon has been removed but Merlin's house
remains.

A: As Excalibur is a gaming establishment, you must be minimum

A: Excalibur requires a minimum of 48 hours notice prior to
your scheduled arrival date for a a full
refund.

A: Excalibur offers free Valet and
self-parking.

Internet service in the guest rooms? A: Yes,
high-speed Internet access is available as part of the daily
resort fee. Internet access available in English, Spanish and
Japanese.

A: Royal Treatment Spa & Fitness Center. Guests must be a

center is available 24/7 and located next to Starbuck's in the

childcare?
A: Excalibur does not offer childcare. There are several
licensed and bonded services listed in the phone
book.
Q: Are pets
allowed? A: No, with the exception of assistance
animals. Please be advised during the summer months the
temperatures are very high and heat buildup in cars will kill
animals. You can call Animal Inn Pet Kennel at (702)
736-0036 for your pets' boarding needs. Please note that
Excalibur does not endorse nor is affiliated with this company

Q: Do you rent
wheelchairs or auto-chairs?
A: Yes, however availability is limited and is on a
first-come-first-serve basis. If you do require mobility
assistance please contact the Bell Desk for more information
upon arrival.

Excalibur guests can receive faxes at no
charge. There is a fee to send faxes. This price is subject to
change at any time.

transportation available to/from the airport? A:
Yes, shuttle services to most hotels are available for purchase
outside the airport baggage claim area. Shuttle service from
Excalibur to the airport is available for purchase, and without
a reservation, from 7 AM - 4 PM daily in the Rear Rotunda area.
After 4 PM, reservations are required, and a direct phone line
to shuttle services is located at the hotel bell desk for your
convenience. Taxi cabs and limousines are also available at the
airport, and Excalibur's Valet area.
